Welcome to the Exciting World of GenTech! GenTech, the Digital Media & Technology Center of Chicago, is proud to announce that beginning Saturday, October 15, 2011, classes for youth, teens, and adults in Game Design, Animation, Web Design, Xbox Game Development, Mobile App Development, and Filmmaking, will be held on the campus of the city’s largest university, the University of Illinois at Chicago.
UIC ranks among the nation's leading research universities.
GENTECH COURSES FOR HIGH SCHOOL CREDITS!

Three of the five GenTech classes may now be taken for high school credits! With the addition of weeks to each session comes richer content worthy adding significant value to what we teach. Beginning in October, 2011, students in grades 8th through 12th may receive high school credit for the following courses:
Game Design I
3-D Animation: Modeling & Texturing
Web Design & Animation
Sessions have been extended to 10 weeks. Beginning January, 2012, classes in STEM, leadership development, and real-world business and entrepreneurial experiences will be incorporated into the program.
ONLINE LEARNING AND SOFTWARE AT HOME!
Students will also be able to work on projects at home with our new Online Learning Program and use of open source software. This addition to the program will allow students to gain extra practice at home and have their work evaluated by the instructors in classes.
Our goal is to stimulate youth and teens to explore, discover, and develop critical, higher-level skills in math, research, and writing with a college, career, and entrepreneurial focus. A heavier emphasis is being put on math and writing.
ADULTS CAN RE-INVENT THEMSELVES!
GenTech is now offering Web Design & Animation classes to adults. This is the first step to our new Adult Program “Re-Invent Yourself!” beginning January, 2012 providing opportunities to learn new skills for 21st century careers and entrepreneurship. A variety of Digital Media classes will be offered introducing adults to animation, web design, and mobile app development. Additionally, adults will be able to take personal assessments to help them determine the proper paths for their futures.
